We stayed at the lodge for two nights to visit the Lauca national park. The rooms are nicely furnished and comfortable, and thanks to the lodge's backup power generation and water supply we could have hot water and electricity also during the frequent blackouts and outages affecting the rest of Putre. Breakfast is also good, with real italian coffee. Flavio, the host, was very helpful, also arranging for us the tour to the Lauca, and giving us plenty of information on the region, on the animals and plants of the Lauca, and on how to cope with the altitude.

The rooms are nice, clean and quiet with hot shower and heater. Breakfast is good and the Italian owners are very nice and helpful (English spoken too). This is also where you go for a real italian coffee in Putre. They organize tours (not only for guests) and sell their own map with lots of useful tips for Lauca, Vicuña and Surire. Only a handful of rooms, reservation recommended. We could only stay one night, but went the next day for a coffee, the map to vicuña and tips for the way and where to stay after Surire.
